The Japanese TV channel SkyPerfecTV (which has about 365,000 subscribers) will start broadcasting the world's first 3D TV series set in an air traffic control tower in Tokyo.

I wonder if the 3D money shots will be aircraft taking off and landing right overhead, like the Wayne's World scene? :)

Apparently there are 10 episodes of 60 minutes each which will also be broadcast in 2D on the Fuji channel. Sony equipment was used for filming and Fuji made the programs. Apparently Fuji took advice from the producers of Avatar before filming. Where have we heard that before? Ahh, yes, we blogged about James Cameron advising Sky on 3D production techniques almost a year ago.
