LG are pushing ahead on all 3D fronts. Not content with releasing a 72-inch Full HD 3DTV (the LZ9700), they've also announced that the "world's first Full 3D smartphone", the LG Optimus 3D Smartphone, will be released at the upcoming Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
The bit of news that I found amazing was that they have equipped, "the Optimus 3D with a dual-lens camera for 3D recording", so you can photograph or video record your friends doing something crazy in 3D, and play it back to them on your phone which uses glasses-free (autostereoscopic) 3D technology. You could even share the clip with them using HDMI-out and DLNA-streaming connectivity. Wow. Does anything else on the market (or coming soon to the market) let you do that?
The Optimus 3D is the second "duel core" smartphone from LG after the release of the LG Optimus 2X set. The Three phone network confirmed they'll be offering the phone in the UK, but with no date or pricing details.
The first live demo of the LG Optimus 3D Smartphone will be at MWC, Barcelona from February 14-17.
