LG announced in January, during the CES 2011 tradeshow, that they were going to release a 72-inch monster 3DTV… the "world's largest Full LED 3DTV" LZ9700. At their UK blog, it was announced that the release date for the UK was pencilled in as "early 2011".
Now that we've entered February 2011 and the LZ9700 has been officially released in the Middle East (fittingly in the shadow of the the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa at The Address Hotel, Dubai on Feb 1st) I left a comment at LG's blog post asking if there was any update on the UK release date for this exciting product. When I get a firm date, I'll update this post!
The 72-inch LZ9700 (59 inches wide and 40 inches tall) comes with LG's "Magic Motion Control" which allows "point and click" remote control of the TV's functions rather than pressing buttons, as found on the LX9900 series of TV's and state-of-the-art TV functions such as TruMotion 400 Hz refresh rate, FULL LED Slim with Spot Control (Local Dimming), DLNA wireless functionality, NetCast Internet connectivity to Youtube, Picasa and more.
The UK price is unknown, but the release price in the Middle East is reported by Stuff Mid East at a tidy US $9,530!
