The Final Destination has arrived on DVD and contains both a 2D and 3D version of the film.

Unfortunately, this is not the "new tech" 3D, but the old "red/blue glasses" 3D, and the reviews at Amazon.co.uk are not exactly fulsome in their praise… of 18 reviews (so far), half gave it just one or two start out of five. Comments about the 3D version include,

"The 3D effect is almost non-existent and the colours are simply shocking", " is completely impossible to watch it in 3D and I am, in fact, surprised that Entertainment In Video are even allowed to advertise this as a 3D DVD as it simply doesn't work", "The 3D was excellent in the cinema but as the technology is not here yet, we only have the red and blue glasses with the DVD and Blu-ray", " the 3D effect is severely diminished from what you saw in the cinema".

The problem is that people are excited for 3D at home and are being disappointed by the current standard. It would probably be better to wait for the new tranche of 3DTV's and watch a Blu-Ray disc with high quality on a large screen. I don't think there's anything out there on DVD at the moment that looks good on the current televisions.
