Philips seems to be bucking the 3D trend by plumping for the use of autostereoscopic displays, which they call WowVX. Unlike the stereoscopic displays which most TV manufacturer's are producing, the autostereoscopic displays do NOT require special glasses to see the 3D effect. I had heard that autostereoscopic displays were the "next generation" of displays, beyond the next wave of 3D displays from Samsung, Sony, Panasonic, LG and Toshiba, but it seems like Philips is missing out this wave and catching the next one… the one that was supposed to be five or ten years in the future!

Interesting!
